Welcome to foreverchosen, a site that I created to showcase my Buffyverse and Charmed collections. The shows are inextricably linked for me, not only do they both superbly delve into the supernatural, but I grew up watching them and grew with them. I have such happy memories attached to the shows and my collection is an extension of that. Check out my mini blog below for more magical ramblings! Blessed be and happy slaying!

A Closer Look At... Charmed Season 1 trading cards by Inkworks

Initially scheduled for release in February 2000, it wouldn't be until December of that year Inkworks's first foray into Charmed trading cards would hit the market. This would also be the only set to have the 'Season...' prefix.

It also happens to be the set I've dedicated the most time into trying to complete. 1 is my favourite season of Charmed and I've always liked the Prue years best. I have almost everything from this set, plus a few extras.

The earliest promotional item I could find was from 1999, the NSU-1 promo card. It was limited to 1000 and could be obtained by responding to the annual Non-Sport Update magazine's Gummie Awards write in programme. It has a silver foil logo.

Season 1 promotional cards: (L-R) NSU-1, P-0, P-1, PB-1, P2, SF-1, ML-1, PC-i, CL-1. Housed in the binder I used before I got the official one.

The other interesting promo cards are: PCi (an Inkworks.com exclusive), ML-1 (Suncoast Video exclusive), PB-1 (Pocket Books exclusive) and SF-1 (Sci-Fi magazine exclusive). The last card pictured in the photo above is a box insert (CL1) promoting then new episodes.

Sell sheet

The next promotional item is the double-sided sell sheet, given to dealers.

The back of the sell sheet. Alyssa Milano didn't end up signing for this set.

This binder will probably cost you more than any of the cards will!

Moving onto the bulk of the set, this is the official binder by Inkworks, in mint condition. According to Jeff Allender's House Of Checklists, it's extremely rare to find it in good condition as most of the binders produced arrived damaged.

Back of the binder, the art is gorgeous!

The proudly un-damaged spine; the design is much more elaborate than the other official Charmed binders

The first page of the base cards

The base cards contain episode guides, demon cards, character cards and Halliwell family tree cards, largely focusing on episode stills.

Shannen Doherty (via redemption), Holly Marie Combs (via redemption), T.W. King, Brian Krause (via redemption), Dorian Gregory (via redemption) and David Carradine all lent their autographs for this set. Alyssa Milano was scheduled to in promotions but didn't. The cards go from A2-A4, skipping A3; Alyssa's autograph from the Power Of Three set has an image of her from season 1 and is A3 so I've included it in this binder for now, as a 'missing piece'. Presently, I'm missing Holly, Brian and Dorian's autographs but aim to have it complete as soon as possible (and will share an update when that happens)!

P1-P9 chase cards

The first chase set is The Charmed Ones foil puzzle cards, running from P1-P9 with a ratio of 1:11 packs. Each card has a quote on the back and forms a landscape image of the Charmed Ones.

B1-B6 chase cards, S1 and an empty wrapper

The second chase set is the Book Of Shadows foil-stamped cards that go from B1-B6, these were inserted 1:18 packs. Each card flips open and reveals a spell used during season 1.

The final chase card created for this set is the S1 foil-stamped spirit board card, inserted 1:108 packs. It features Patty's inscription on the back.

An uncut foil chase set of The Charmed Ones was available and limited to 500 copies. There were also several printing plate/proof cards available separately.

Sealed hobby box: I can't bring myself to open it!

Hobby boxes contain 36 packs of 7 cards with at least one full base set guaranteed. The boxes alone are rare but even more so if they are sealed.
