In this new Highlights series, I wanted to go more in-depth and cover some special items. Across my collections, I have various things that I feel deserve an entire article; either because they're unusual, particularly beautiful or just something that I really love!
One of my favourite things about collecting is the history associated with items. Phonecards definitely falls into that because by today's standards, they're near enough obsolete. Each card is approximately the size of a credit card and they show the balance stored on it. The aesthetic in the case of these Buffy ones isn't dissimilar from the trading cards.
The Buffy cards were limited to 500 copies produced and due to the disposable nature of phonecards, I'd bet that there are probably a lot less than 500 out there now! I won the complete set through an eBay auction several years ago.
Moving overseas, the next item is a limited edition, uncut sheet of Russian stamps produced by Komi, dating from 2002.
There's not a lot more information out there on them, as far as I can tell. They were limited to 400 copies and were likely not used in circulation. But, they're certainly cute and would look nice mounted.
If there's any items you would like to see me cover, let me know and I'll do my best!
